Postcode for SAT NAV is HG3 4DR. Please note - This post code serves two addresses, so for The Old Barn, Studio and The Byre, ignore the driveway marked ‘Private Land' and 'Private Road’ and continue up the hill another 100 yards up to Helme Pasture Lodges and Cottages.
However, for Fern Crag and Stone Croft lodges themselves, you will need to take the driveway marked 'Private Road' and 'Private Land'. About 100 yards along this drive you will come to 2 gates. Take the gate to the right hand side, which is signposted to our lodges.
From Summerbridge:
When you arrive in Summerbridge on the B6165, turn right up Hartwith Bank at the crossroads next to the Flying Dutchman pub. If you have reached Summerbridge on the B6451, go straight across the crossroads onto Hartwith Bank . Helme Pasture Lodges and Cottages are on the left-hand side approx. ¼ of a mile up this hill.
From the North (A1 at Ripon):
Traveling south along the A1 exit at junction 50 and follow the A61 towards Ripon. Go straight over the roundabout on the outskirts of Ripon and continue along the A61 Ripon bypass. Go straight over at the next 4 roundabouts following the signs for Harrogate. At the Ripley roundabout, take the third exit towards Pateley Bridge (B6165). Continue along this road going through the villages of Bedlam and Burnt Yates and follow the ‘From Summerbridge’ directions above.
From the South (A1 at Knaresborough):
Traveling north along the A1 exit at junction 47 along the A59 towards Knaresborough. At the Flaxby Park roundabout continue straight on along the A59. At the next roundabout, take the third exit (turning right) continuing along the A59 into Knaresborough. Once you have passed through the centre of the Knaresborough on the A59, turn left at the mini roundabout and then immediately right at the second mini roundabout onto the B6165 following the signs for Ripley/Pateley Bridge. Continue along this road past the villages of Scotton and Nidd. At Ripley, take the third exit at the 1st roundabout and then the second exit at the next roundabout, towards Pateley Bridge on the B6165. Continue along this road going through the villages of Bedlam and Burnt Yates and follow the ‘From Summerbridge’ directions above.
From Skipton:
Take the A59 from Skipton towards Harrogate. After Blubberhouses and Fewston Reservoir, turn left onto the B6451 towards Pateley Bridge. Go past RAF Menwith Hill, Darley, Dacre Banks and then Dacre. In Summerbridge, at the crossroads go straight over up Hartwith Bank (the Flying Dutchman pub is across the road on your right). Helme Pasture Lodges and Cottages are on the left-hand side approx. ¼ of a mile up the hill.
The nearest train station is in Harrogate and the service runs regularly from Leeds and York. From Harrogate train station either a bus or taxi will be necessary to reach Summerbridge. There is a taxi rank immediately outside the station exit.
The bus station is adjacent to Harrogate train station (come out of the exit and turn right. The stop is approx. 200 yards down the main road). The number 24 runs hourly and travels from Harrogate to Pateley Bridge passing through Summerbridge. Once leaving the bus at Summerbridge bus shelter cross the road opposite Summerbridge General Store. Walk up the road towards the Flying Dutchman Pub. Turn left up Hartwith Bank to walk up the steep hill to Helme Pasture Lodges and Cottages which are approx. a quarter of a mile up the hill on the left hand side.
The nearest airport is Leeds/Bradford Airport. Taxis are available from the airport.
